Linda:

My first visit to Maine, my sister, who lives in Lincolnville, takes me into Camden for lunch. I love, love, love lobster! Living in Florida I had never had a lobster roll and she had heard yours were good. We were greeted warmly by Charley Jean. I told her this was my first lobster roll. She was so great making me feel special, being so sweet and engaging. And, the lobster roll was all that I had expected. I was thrilled. I went to eat at another place and tried their lobster roll. Not nearly as good and it was covered in mayo. I prefer yours and went back today. Charley Jean was there and just as sweet and so happy I had returned. She made me another excellent lobster roll, which I enjoyed tremendously.

Thank you for having such a amazing product and employing such great people as Charley Jean. She is an asset to your establishment.

I am in Maine until Wednesday and I am sure I will stop by again for another lobster roll. Yum!

SUPER YUM! What an addition to the dining options in the islands! So- We made the trip downtown because we have heard from SO many locals how great it was... I must say that I found parking, hopped right out and was in the restaurant in about 7 minutes. I expected the process to take much longer to be honest.

Walked in to find a simple, yet VERY tempting, menu- Maine Lobster Roll basket (includes chips), shrimp rolls and hot dog baskets. I am a hot-dog junkie- it was tough to not take the bait, but I had to have the sweet Maine lobster I crave.. (Caribbean Spiny Lobster is good- but doesn't hold a candle to its cold-water cousin.)

We ordered two Lobster Roll baskets and two Coors Lights ($20 per person) and started chatting up the owner, Tim, who was preparing our rolls behind the counter.

First bite- HEAVEN. Really. If you live in St Thomas or St John, this is a MUST. If you're on your way to the airport- go early and have lunch here. If you are visiting St Thomas or St John and you don't eat here- you are totally missing out on one of the very unique dining opportunities these islands have to offer.

The rolls are FULL of sweet, delicious lobster.. not overly buttery (thank goodness!) served with sweet pickles and yummy chips!

I've eaten lobster rolls all the way from Cape Neddick to Lincolnville Beach and in my seventy years on this God's green earth this one is the best I've ever tasted.

Dear Linda,

I live in Camden, Me. and I just want to tell you that your lobster roll is the best I have had. You beat Red's Eats by a mile. I have a friend who visits me every summer from California. She is a "lobsterholic"!!!!!!!! She eats it once or twice a day for the whole week she is here. She is coming in August this year and I have already told her about your lobster rolls. I know where I will be eating lots of my meals for a week.......your cafe in Camden.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your success and keep up the good work.

Local Love: Lobster Rolls @ Linda Bean's in Delray Beach!!

I am originally from Boston and summer in Gloucester and Rockport every year where my family has a clam & lobster bake. I know my lobster rolls and have eaten thousands of them. I was in Delray for a wedding last weekend and was driving down Atlantic Blvd when I saw a sign for Linda Bean's Perfect Maine Lobster Roll on Atlantic. We were starving so we stopped to grab a lobster roll. It was expensive, yes ($15.50 for 1/4lb lobster roll w/ chips, sweet pickles, and slaw), but absolutely phenomenal and the best lobster roll I have tasted outside of New England.

First thing I noticed was a nice piece of claw meat on the top of the roll. Claw meat is the best meat on the lobster!! It is the sweetest and most tender and flavorful. Linda Bean's lobster roll was LOADED with claw meat and I couldn't have been happier. Second thing I noticed was that they only use a little mayo so you get the full flavor of the lobster along with a little of their dry seasoning which I believe contained celery flake and a little dill. Third, the bun. They use authentic New England hot dog rolls that stand up on their own because they have a flat bottom. Those are so hard to find down here that there is even a thread on the Florida Chowhound board about where to find them. The bun was toasted on the flat top with a little butter which adds another flavor element to the lobster roll. A lobster roll is not supposed to be hot or warm. The bun should be toasted, that's it.

We loved that lobster roll so much that when we saw a parking spot out in front of Linda Bean's the following day, we just had to go grab a lobster roll for the road. It wasn't the first lobster roll I've eaten behind the wheel and I'm sure it won't be the last. I just hope they open one of these up in Miami (which I believe there is a rumor that they could be looking to do just that).
